When Life Feels Different Than You Expected
You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out.
People begin therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes it’s because of a specific event that’s difficult to move through. Other times, it’s a quiet feeling that something isn’t quite right, a sense of being stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns that no longer serve you.
You may be here because…
- You find yourself feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or caught in persistent worry.
- Relationships feel difficult, or you notice yourself repeating the same emotional patterns.
- A painful experience or trauma continues to affect your life.
- You’re navigating grief, loss, or a significant life transition.
- Academic or professional pressures have become difficult to manage.
- You’re facing challenges related to addiction or coping with unhealthy habits.
- You’re adjusting to migration, a new culture, or searching for a greater sense of belonging.
- You’re questioning your identity or trying to better understand yourself.
- You’re experiencing physical symptoms that seem connected to emotional stress.
- You simply want a deeper understanding of yourself and the experiences that have shaped you.
Whatever brings you here, therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and explore what lies beneath the surface.
Together, we can work toward greater insight, lasting change, and a way of relating to yourself and others that feels more authentic and meaningful.
Meet Andreea Brabete
A compassionate space to understand yourself more deeply.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a PhD, working as both a clinician and a researcher. In my Toronto practice, I offer psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapy to adolescents, young adults, adults and older adults.
My work is shaped by a deep respect for each person’s history and context. I welcome immigrants, newcomers and refugees, as well as 2SLGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities, and I hold in mind the ways migration, identity and belonging shape emotional life.
Together, we create a steady, confidential space where difficult feelings can be spoken about and understood, rather than managed alone.

“Symptoms are not simply problems to remove. They are communications about a life that deserves to be understood.”
My Approach
A deeper understanding can create lasting change.
I work psychodynamically and psychoanalytically. Rather than focusing only on managing symptoms, this way of working attends to the underlying emotional patterns that shape how we think, relate, and cope.
Much of what influences us operates outside of awareness. In therapy, we slowly bring these patterns into view – noticing how early relationships, unspoken feelings and repeated dynamics continue to live in the present.
Change comes through understanding, not instruction. As you become more familiar with your inner world, choices that once felt automatic begin to feel like yours to make.
The therapeutic relationship itself becomes part of this work: a reliable space in which meaning can be made, at a pace that respects what you bring.
